Anfield Cat

Ada kejadian unik sewaktu Liverpool menjamu Tottenham Hotspurs di Anfield 8 Februari 2012 silam. Tak disangka seekor kucing masuk ke lapangan pada saat pertandingan sedang berlangsung, hampir selama 11 menit kucing itu melakukan gerakan slalom di lapangan layaknya seorang Lionell Messi. Kucing tersebut menjadi tontonan para seisi stadion, begitu pula dengan Brad Friedel, kiper Tottenham yang berada paling dekat dengan kucing yang sedang berlari kegirangan tersebut. Para pendukung Liverpool, yang dikenal memiliki selera humor yang bagus, menggubah lagu mengenai kucing tersebut dengan lirik "A cat, a cat... a cat, a cat, a cat" dengan nada serupa dengan salah satu nyanyian kebesaran The Kop "Attack...Attack." Kucing tersebut kemudian melenggang keluar lapangan, dan terakhir kali terlihat berada dalam dekapan seorang petugas keamanan Anfield. skor kacamata akhirnya mengakhiri pertandingan kedua tim tersebut
